While driving at about 10 mph in a parking lot, I clipped my passenger side rear tire on a curb during a 90 degree right hand turn. When I drove off the curb my tire was rubbing the wheel well. Turns out that the leaf spring broke and the individaul layers slid three inches and the U-bolts and axle shifted on the leaf spring. The point of contact with the curb was at a diagonal angle on the outer tire tread. No damage to the rim or body and I really wasn't moving too fast. We all run over a 8" curb every now and then but has anyone else done $3000 to $5000 worth of damage? Haven't taken the thing off road in 20,000 miles. When I get it back, I'll be afraid too!
