I just had my tires checked for low pressure, and it turns out that the O-ring around the tire sensor is starting to go bad, or it's just shrinking due to the cold temperature. Anybody else encounter this problem, besides just the sensor light just staying on?

Does anyone know if there is an overide to turn off the sensor? Thinking about just replacing these damn sensor with regular valve stems.

I've had this problem. Are you suggesting the o-ring is letting air leak? I thought there might be a problem with the sensor.

Right meow it has been the o ring leaking. But for now I've remedied that problem. I put regular valve stems in their place on the sensors causing the problems. And know what? No leaks.

I've found out that this problem has been accuring on vehicles that have the tire sensor on aftermarket wheels. Solution? I replaced all the sensors with standard valve stems, and have had no problems. Something to keep in mind if you change your rims and experience some cold temperature.

I have also had a problem with one of my tires losing air. I took it into the dealer and was told they would have to send it out to a tire store. I already had taken it to a tire store to check it out for leaks and they couldn't find any. So every couple of weeks I have to put air in that tire and its the only one that loses air. I think the dealer told me that a new sensor would cost about $50 which is what the deductible is on the extended warranty.

I say skip the sensor, go strait to a regular valve stem. Do you or plan to ever use aftermarket wheels? If so, your sensors probaly won't last long either, in my experience.
