I have a 04 Titan LE and the tailgate is so heavy.  Most of the time you are letting it down with one hand which is difficult.  My brother  has a 05 Titan and his tailgate gildes down so smoothly.  Can they  fix this for the 04?  Thanks

TennTitan, if you are very good @ bodywork and welding you can, on the 05' there is a different bracket on the passenger sider of the hinge and it mounts onto a shock in my opinion this would not be the way to go, you can go on Ebay and search for tail gate assist, there is a cheap and simple solution to you problem if you don't mind drilling a few holes and seeing a 1/4" bar when you open your tail gate. Good luck,

This subject has been covered. See this link : http://www.nissantitan.info/search.asp?KW=tailgate&SM=1& amp;SI=TC&FM=0&OB=1

Basically it can be done if you can get a parts guy @ your Nissan dealership to look up the parts for you.. But it does require some sheet metal modification behind the passenger side tail light, some drilling and possibly some welding. Or you can buy a relatively cheap aftermarket steel spring assist, which can also be found on threads in the above link...GL
